With funding from the City of Chelsea, the SYEI (Summer Youth Employment Initiative) youth worked this summer on a public art mural project using a technique called wheatpasting with Chelsea Prospers. The final results are beautiful designs on the topics of Black Lives Matter, Immigration Justice, and ending discrimination against the LGBTQ community.” The final project was installed on Cherry Street in Chelsea on September 21, where civic engagement youth leaders helped with the installation.

In this presentation, you can find the designs and more details on the youth’s inspiration for the project.
