Hello all! Welcome to the Chelsea and Somerville job opportunities newsletter! The jobs won’t be separated by school, but the location will be included so you can figure out how far it is from you! Every two weeks or so, I’ll send out an email updating the list of places currently hiring!

Some things to know before reading:

• A rolling deadline means that they are accepting applications until the position has been filled

• All jobs are part time, if they are not part time, I will make a note of the hour requirements. Part time generally means 10-20 hours a week

• If you are 18, you can apply to any of the jobs listed here

Note: The summer programs are actively trying to hire 14 year olds. The year long positions can hire 14 year olds, but they don’t always because of the legal restrictions on work for 14 year olds. The summer programs are a good opportunity to get work experience!

Mayor’s Job Program: Summer

What: This is a job matching program through the Mayor’s Office in Somerville. It runs from July 8th to August 16thand you would work 20 hours a week. You’ll be matched based on your future career interests and have the chance to work at places like the Parks and Recreation Department, Police and Fire Department, and the Library.

La Colaborativa Stem Internship: Summer

What: This is a STEM focused internship that runs from July 1st – August 9th. It’s focused on bettering the Chelsea community using a lens of Sustainability and Social Justice

In Gallery Learning Intern: Summer

What: This is an opportunity to work at the Museum of Science where you will help design programming focused on engineering, biology, and human health. You’ll have to be there at least 4 hours out of the day and it’ll run for the whole summer.
