Congratulations to Encore Boston Harbor on their much-anticipated Grand Opening on June 23rd! Encore has been a valued employer partner on MassHire Metro North Workforce Board’s (MNWB) hospitality and gaming initiative and is also a member of the Board. For the past few years, MNWB has partnered with Encore and several community-based organizations and job training providers to help hundreds of Metro North residents with the services and programs they need to access the high-quality career opportunities at Encore. The initiative has been supported by the Massachusetts’ Gaming Commission’s Community Mitigation Fund as well as additional resources from partner cities Everett, Malden, Chelsea, Revere, Somerville, Cambridge, and Medford. We look forward to continuing the work of filling the hospitality pipeline with skilled workers for Encore and many other employers in the region.

Never Too Late - A Career Center Success Story
Simone M. came to MassHire Metro North Career Center in November 2018, one-month shy of turning 71. She had worked at her last employer for just under 20 years, so her job search skills needed updating. She also expressed an interest in returning to work as a home health aide/personal care assistant after being away from the field for many years.
She received assistance in creating a resume and began to explore training programs.
