About this Event
The Metro North Workforce Board Youth Team is seeking to provide more opportunities to the Metro North's diverse youth/young adult population in the field of STEM, and provide STEM employers with opportunities to connect with youth and their communities. A keynote speaker will address the forum, followed by a data presentation on Metro North youth and involvement in STEM, ending with 2 breakout sessions:
2:00pm - 2:05pm: Welcome from MassHire Metro North Director of Youth Programs Trey Walsh
2:05pm - 2:35pm: Keynote Q&A on Inclusivity and Diversity in STEM and Employer Engagement with Diverse Youth Populations with Tarikh Campbell, Program Manager for Workplace Inclusion at Microsoft New England Research & Development and Chris Albrizio-Lee, President & CEO of the MassHire Metro North Workforce Board
2:30pm - 3:00pm: Data Presentation on employment trends in STEM focus on issues of diversity, and data on diverse youth engagement with STEM companies from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
3:00pm - 3:45pm: STEM Employer Workshop session - Hear from industry leading employers on their experiences running youth internship programs, engaging with diverse youth populations in Metro North, and more.
3:45pm - 4:00pm: Event Conclusion, questions for MNWB: Attendees may ask questions to the MNWB in regard to connect with area schools, youth, and youth serving organizations
