KATE ARMSTRONG
Kate Armstrong joined the MassHire Metro North Workforce Board in September 2022 as STEM Programs. Kate is a former elementary school teacher specializing in science and math education and spent a year developing and implementing a STEM fair for third and fourth graders at her school. She spent her summers working with Woodwell Climate Research Center as a field research and education assistant on estuary ecology and river restoration projects, where she focused on making science accessible to people of all education levels and backgrounds.
As a former participant in a program that placed high school students from underrepresented populations in high-quality cancer research internships, Kate understands first-hand the positive impact that these internship placements have on youth. She is passionate about creating equitable opportunities for all through early and targeted STEM education, mentorship, and workforce training.
