This quarter, we launched the NewBiz Entrepreneurship WIOA Youth Cohort. This pilot program is designed to equip local youth with the knowledge, skills, resources, and confidence to build and run their own businesses. Through interactive learning, exercises, 1-1 mentorship, and a certification exam, students gain valuable experiences in entrepreneurship which help them grow “side hustles” into businesses or prepare them to work for someone else’s small business.
To highlight this program and share its significant impact on local youth, we sat down with seven students at a recent NewBiz Entrepreneurship class to hear about their experiences in the program directly. Watch the video below to hear them share the ways that this pilot program has helped improve their business knowledge, public speaking skills, creativity, self-confidence, and more!
Special thank you to Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) for partnering with us on this program to provide classroom materials and prepare students for the nationally recognized Entrepreneurship and Small Business certification exam. Additionally, thank you to ABCD and SCALE for assisting the program as our WIOA Youth providers!
