On Tuesday, June 4, 2019, six participants of an advanced manufacturing training program held at Somerville High School graduated and received their certificates. The 325-hour program was focused on CNC machining training and aims to prepare participants for jobs as machinists at local manufacturers. The program is part of a grant from the Massachusetts Executive Office of Housing and Economic Development’s (EOHED) Advanced Manufacturing Training Program, managed by the MassHire Metro North Workforce Board (MNWB) on behalf of the Northeast Advanced Manufacturing Consortium (NAMC). This is the fourth consecutive year MNWB/NAMC has partnered with Somerville on advanced manufacturing training under the EOHED program.
