Cambridge, MA, November 13, 2019: MassHire Metro North Workforce Board (MNWB) has announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Christopher Albrizio-Lee as President and CEO of MNWB in Cambridge, MA effective November 11, 2019.
Following the departure in June of its prior CEO, Sunny Schwartz, the MNWB conducted an extensive search for new leadership, resulting in many highly qualified candidates. Of the three finalists, Mr. Albrizio-Lee proved to have the right combination of vision, extensive hands on experience at MNWB and broad workforce development experience in general. Mr. Albrizio-Lee served as Interim President and CEO of MNWB since June. He originally joined MNWB in 2016 and served as its Vice President prior to becoming interim President and CEO.
On his new role, he commented, “I am thrilled to be continuing with the MNWB as its new President and CEO. I look forward to working with the staff, Board, and all of our partners to develop innovative solutions that address the workforce needs of job seekers and employers in our region.”
Mr. Albrizio-Lee holds a Master’s Degree in Human Services Management from UMass Boston.
Mr. Albrizio-Lee brings extensive experience with MNWB and with workforce development in general, including establishing and cultivating strong employer partnerships, and serving key roles in the areas of non-profit management and leadership, as well as program development. Working with the Board, staff and our many partners, his skills, commitment and leadership will support the MNWB as it strives to serve businesses and job seekers in creative and innovative ways.
The MassHire Metro North Workforce Board provides employers with the workforce they need to effectively compete in the changing world economy and enables area residents to gain the skills to maximize their economic self-sufficiency. It is the local Workforce Development Board, designated by the City of Cambridge and the MassHire Department of Career Services, for a twenty-community region north of Boston. We are a Massachusetts 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation.
